Farm mosaic
Small agricultural plots cover much of the area, their boundaries forming a fine, irregular pattern that gives the poster its texture.

Upper Gilgil Map Poster & Print
Upper Gilgil lies in Nyandarua County, on the higher ground north of the town of Gilgil. This is highland farming country, and the map reflects it: rather than a dense town grid, the drawing shows scattered homesteads, small plots and roads that follow the lie of the land. Streams cut through the landscape in irregular lines as they drain toward lower ground.
Settlement here is spread out, with small trading centres at crossroads and a network of lanes linking farms to the main roads. Field boundaries create a fine mosaic, especially where land has been divided into smaller holdings over time. The overall effect is detailed but calm, with no single dominant centre.
An Upper Gilgil map poster is a portrait of a rural community rather than a city. It suits people who grew up on these farms, or families who want to remember a particular piece of land. In black and white, the pattern of plots and paths becomes a quiet, textured image.

Winding lanes
Rural roads follow ridges and valleys rather than a grid, curving between homesteads and trading centres across the highland.
Stream lines
Watercourses run downhill through the farmland, drawing soft, meandering lines that break up the pattern of fields.
