Vilattikulam Map Poster & Print
Vilattikulam is a town in the Thoothukudi district of Tamil Nadu, in the dry, flat country of the far south of India. The name ends in kulam, the Tamil word for a tank or pond. Across this region, water tanks are central to farming and to the shape of the land. From above, the town is a compact grid of streets surrounded by fields and scattered bodies of water.
The plains around Vilattikulam are mostly agricultural, with crops that suit a hot, semi-arid climate. Roads cross the district in long, straight stretches, linking the town to nearby villages and to the larger centres on the coast. On a map, field boundaries and irrigation features form a fine, patchwork texture around the denser streets of the centre.
A Vilattikulam map poster keeps things simple and accurate: the town's core, the roads leading out, and the fields and tanks that surround it. Few printed maps cover a town of this size in any detail. For families from Thoothukudi district now living in Chennai, the Gulf or further away, it is a clear reminder of a familiar place.

Tanks and ponds
Water storage tanks, typical of southern Tamil Nadu farming, appear as open shapes around the town. They echo the kulam in the town's own name.
Straight rural roads
Long, direct roads cross the flat plain toward neighbouring towns and the coast. They draw strong lines leading out from the centre in several directions.
