South River
The river loops through the centre of the city in wide bends. It is the most expressive line on the map, and much of Waynesboro's parkland lies along it.

Waynesboro Map Poster & Print
Waynesboro lies at the eastern edge of the Shenandoah Valley, where the valley floor meets the Blue Ridge. On a map, the South River is the defining line, winding north through the middle of the city in tight bends. Downtown fills the flatter ground beside it, and residential streets climb the gentle slopes on either side.
Just east of the city, Interstate 64 climbs to Rockfish Gap, where Skyline Drive and the Blue Ridge Parkway meet. The Appalachian Trail crosses there as well, and many hikers come down into town for supplies. The ridge line forms a dark, uneven edge along the eastern side of the frame.
A Waynesboro map poster shows a city shaped by its river and its mountains. The meandering South River, the older grid of downtown and the roads heading up toward the gap combine into a composition with real movement. It is a strong choice for anyone connected to the valley or the trail.

Rockfish Gap
East of town, the road climbs to the gap in the Blue Ridge, where two famous scenic routes and the Appalachian Trail all converge.
Downtown grid
The older commercial blocks sit on the flat land beside the river. Their regular pattern contrasts with the curving streets on the surrounding hills.
