Zhengji is a town in Tongshan District of Xuzhou, lying on the flat plain north of the city's urban centre and only a short distance from neighbouring Huangji. On a map it reads as a compact core of streets surrounded by open land, part of a wider zone where Xuzhou's growth is gradually reaching into what was once entirely agricultural country.
The pattern around the town mixes old and new. Long straight roads carry traffic toward Xuzhou and across the plain, while newer residential blocks and industrial sites introduce larger, more regular footprints. Between them lie fields, ponds and older villages with small, irregular lanes, and the contrast between these scales gives the map an interesting, layered texture.
