Valley setting
The town fills a narrow, flat stretch between ridges. That gives it a long, contained outline on the print, with the hills pressing in from both sides.

Zhongchao Map Poster & Print
Zhongchao is in the southeast of Guizhou, in hill country where Dong and Miao communities have lived for centuries. From above, the land is folded and green. Steep ridges run close together, and the narrow valleys between them hold water, fields and settlements. The town takes up one of these valley floors, and its plan is shaped by the stream running through it.
The streets are few and follow the valley instead of forming a grid. A main road carries through traffic. Smaller lanes branch off toward houses, fields and the lower slopes. Around the edges, terraced fields step up the hillsides and give the map a fine, layered texture where the roads stop.
A Zhongchao map poster is a portrait of a mountain town at small scale. It shows a clear channel of streets and water surrounded by the quiet mass of the hills. It suits people from the area and travellers who have walked the valleys of Qiandongnan.

River through town
A watercourse runs along the valley floor and sets the direction of the main streets. It's the strongest single line in the composition.
Terraced slopes
Farmland climbs the hillsides in terraces. Where field edges appear, the empty space around the town takes on a delicate, contour-like pattern.
