Suburban rail spine
The Central Railway line cuts straight across the town. On the poster it works as the main axis, and the densest streets gather around the station.

Ambarnath Map Poster & Print
Ambarnath lies in Thane district, at the eastern end of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The town has grown along the Central Railway suburban line, and from above the tracks run through it as a firm straight line. Residential blocks and industrial areas spread out on both sides. Toward the east, the built-up area gives way to the first slopes of the hills that lead up to the Sahyadri.
The town is best known for the Ambreshwar Shiva temple, a stone temple from the eleventh century built under the Shilahara dynasty and carved in fine detail. It stands near the Waldhuni river, which winds through the town. Ambarnath has also long been an industrial town, home to large factory estates as well as the commuters who travel into Mumbai every day.
An Ambarnath map poster captures the layout of a commuter town. The railway divides the map, the river adds a looser curve, and the station is where the densest streets meet. Neighbouring towns press in at the edges, so the town reads as one link in the long chain of settlements running east from Mumbai.

Waldhuni river
This small river winds through the urban area near the old temple. Its looser line breaks the regular blocks and gives the composition a natural curve.
Industrial estates
Large factory compounds take up wide areas with few internal streets. On the map they read as broad, simple shapes next to the fine grain of the housing areas.

Miért Ambarnath?
Egy térkép, ami jelent valamit
Ambarnath is where many families put down roots on the edge of a very large city. The map records a local world that is easy to miss from the train: the lanes, the river and the neighbourhood around the station.
You can add a title, a subtitle such as a moving-in date, and the coordinates, then pick one of five styles. Buy the $9 HD files to print locally, or order a printed poster on matte paper with an optional wooden frame.
