Arroyito is a town in the east of Córdoba province, on the flat pampas plain beside the Río Xanaes, also called the Río Segundo. Like many towns in the region, it was laid out on a regular grid of square blocks. The river gives it an irregular natural edge, and farmland stretches to the horizon in long rectangular fields.
Arroyito is best known as the birthplace of Arcor, the confectionery and food company founded here in 1951, which grew into one of Latin America’s largest food producers. Its presence still shapes the town, and its industrial facilities appear as large blocks on the map alongside the residential grid.
