Harbour breakwaters
Long piers and protective walls extend into the gulf, drawing straight, precise lines across the water in front of the town and its port.

Arzew Map Poster & Print
Arzew lies on the Algerian coast east of Oran, on the western side of the gulf that bears its name. On a map the town is compact, built on a regular pattern of streets close to the harbour, while the coastline beyond it is dominated by long breakwaters, jetties and the large rectangular plots of an industrial zone that stretches along the bay.
Arzew is one of the centres of Algeria's hydrocarbon industry. Its gas liquefaction plant, opened in 1964, was the first commercial facility of its kind in the world, and today pipelines, refineries and loading terminals line the shore. The town also appears in the history of the Second World War: in November 1942, Allied forces landed here during Operation Torch.
An Arzew map poster presents an unusual contrast between the fine street grid of a small coastal town and the bold geometry of its port infrastructure. The gulf's open water gives the composition a calm edge. Noir draws out the industrial lines, while Paper gives the map the look of a historic harbour chart.

Industrial coast
The shore beyond the town is occupied by large plots of plants, tanks and terminals, creating a geometric pattern quite unlike the residential streets.
Gulf of Arzew
The wide bay curves away from the town, and its open water fills a large part of the poster, giving the dense coastline a broad, quiet frame.
