Straight coastline
The Mediterranean shore runs along the edge of the city in a long, almost straight line. It gives the poster a clean, steady border against open water.

Ashkelon Map Poster & Print
Ashkelon stretches along the southern Mediterranean coast of Israel. From above, the shoreline is almost perfectly straight, and the city runs parallel to it. The neighbourhoods near the sea contain beaches, parks and a marina, while newer districts spread inland in large planned blocks and green belts.
The city stands close to one of the oldest continuously settled places in the region. Ashkelon National Park, on the coast, contains the remains of an ancient port city whose history spans the Canaanite, Philistine, Roman and Crusader periods. The site includes a Canaanite mud-brick gate that is among the oldest known arched city gates in the world.
An Ashkelon map poster shows the city as a series of bands running parallel to the sea: the white line of coast, the beaches and parks behind it, then the neighbourhoods and main roads. The semicircular outline of the ancient city in the national park gives the southern edge a distinct and recognisable shape.

National park
The ancient city is preserved in a coastal park, and its curved outline stands out clearly from the modern neighbourhoods that surround it.
Marina
The marina’s breakwaters form a small, precise shape along the otherwise smooth coast and mark the seaside centre of the city.
