Historic centre
Narrow, irregular streets gather around the older mosques and the bazaar area. This is the densest and most intricate part of the map.

Balıkesir Map Poster & Print
Balıkesir lies in Turkey's Marmara region, on a farming plain between the Aegean coast and the interior. The map shows a dense centre of irregular streets around the older mosques and market areas. Broader avenues and newer housing blocks surround it and extend across the flat ground, and the main roads leave the city toward İzmir, Bursa and Çanakkale.
The city played an important part in the early Turkish War of Independence, when regional congresses held here in 1919 and 1920 organised local resistance. Its centre includes the fifteenth-century Zağanos Pasha Mosque and a clock tower that serves as a familiar landmark. The wider province reaches two coasts, but the city itself is firmly inland.
A Balıkesir map poster focuses on the contrast between the finer street pattern of the old centre and the regular blocks of the growing city. With no sea or large river in the frame, the design relies on pure urban texture. That suits the monochrome styles well and keeps the layout easy to read at any size.

Clock tower district
The clock tower stands in the central district. It is a traditional landmark and meeting point, and it helps orient the eye within the tight old street pattern.
Growth across the plain
Newer districts spread over the surrounding plain in larger, more regular blocks, with wide arterial roads organising the expansion and leading out toward the countryside.
