Banstead Map Poster & Print
Banstead sits on high ground in Surrey, on the northern slope of the North Downs, just beyond the southern edge of Greater London. It has kept the feel of a village centred on a single high street, although houses now extend in every direction along curving suburban roads and quiet closes.
What makes the map distinctive is the open land. Banstead Downs and the surrounding commons create wide unbuilt areas of chalk grassland and woodland, and Epsom Downs, home of the racecourse where the Derby is run, lies just to the southwest. The result is a town with no hard outer boundary, where housing meets open ground in irregular, soft edges.
A Banstead map poster balances these two sides: the winding, tree-lined residential streets and the large pale spaces of downs and commons. The railway lines crossing the area add a few long straight strokes, anchoring a composition that otherwise feels relaxed and green.

The High Street
The village centre is organised along one main shopping street, a clear spine from which the residential roads branch out.
Toward Epsom Downs
To the southwest the downland continues toward Epsom Downs racecourse, extending the open, rolling character of the map's edge.
