Kempenfelt Bay
The long arm of Lake Simcoe reaches into the city from the east, its narrow, tapering shape giving the poster an unmistakable centre and a clear sense of direction.

Barrie Map Poster & Print
Barrie sits at the western end of Kempenfelt Bay, a long arm of Lake Simcoe about an hour's drive north of Toronto. The bay gives the city its defining shape from above: a deep, narrow sheet of water with the downtown at its head and neighbourhoods climbing the slopes on both the north and south shores. Streets follow the curve of the waterfront before settling into a grid.
The shoreline is lined almost continuously with parks and trails, so the water's edge appears on the map as an open band rather than a row of buildings. Highway 400, the main route between Toronto and cottage country, passes through the city and carries a steady flow of summer traffic. In winter, the frozen bay is a well-known destination for ice fishing.
A Barrie map poster is shaped by the bay. In black and white, the water forms a strong wedge reaching into the city, the waterfront roads trace its edge, and the grids on the surrounding hills frame it from both sides. It is a map that says a great deal about a place with very few lines.

Waterfront parks
A continuous band of parkland and trails follows the shoreline, leaving the bay's edge open and emphasising its outline against the surrounding streets.
Hillside neighbourhoods
North and south of the bay, residential streets climb the slopes, their grids shifting and curving as they meet the terrain above the water.

Miért Barrie?
Egy térkép, ami jelent valamit
Barrie is where many people grew up, raised families or stopped on the way to the cottage. A map of the bay and the streets around it is a fond reminder of summer evenings on the waterfront and winters out on the ice.
Add a title and a subtitle with a date or a family name, and keep the coordinates line. Choose among Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Download HD files for $9 in six print sizes, or order a printed poster with a frame.
