Southern shoreline
The coast along the Sulu Sea forms a long natural edge, with the open water leaving a large calm area on the poster that balances the streets on land.

Bayawan Map Poster & Print
Bayawan lies on the southern coast of Negros Oriental, facing the Sulu Sea. It covers a large area for a city, stretching from the shoreline inland toward the hills and mountains of the island's interior. From above, the built-up area is small and clustered near the coast, with roads spreading out along the shore and into the agricultural land behind it.
The coastal highway connects Bayawan with other towns along the southern shore of Negros, and rivers flowing from the uplands reach the sea nearby. Much of the land outside the centre is rural, with farms, plantations and scattered villages. The combination of sea, lowland and upland is typical of this part of the Visayas.
A Bayawan map poster shows the relationship between the town and the coast. The shoreline curves along one edge, the centre forms a compact cluster of streets, and the roads and rivers lead inland. In black and white, the open sea and wide countryside give the composition a sense of space around the small urban core.

The main built-up area sits close to the shore, where streets form a compact cluster around the town centre before thinning out into farmland.
Roads inland
From the coast, roads and rivers lead toward the island's interior, drawing lines across the rural landscape that connect the town with its barangays.
