Boulevard ring
The boulevards follow the outline of the medieval walls and form a closed loop around the old town. Surviving bastions add sharp corners to an otherwise rounded shape.

Beaune Map Poster & Print
Beaune's old centre is easy to read from above. A ring of boulevards traces the line of the former ramparts, enclosing a tight, irregular core of lanes, squares and courtyards. Several bastions and stretches of wall still survive, and on a map their angular profile shows where the fortifications once turned. Outside the ring, the streets loosen into later neighbourhoods, roads and rail lines.
The town is the traditional wine capital of Burgundy. Its most famous building, the Hôtel-Dieu of the Hospices de Beaune, was founded in 1443 by Nicolas Rolin, chancellor to the Duke of Burgundy, and is known for its patterned glazed-tile roof. Each November the Hospices hold a charity wine auction that draws buyers from around the world.
A Beaune map poster captures the contrast between the dense, enclosed centre and the open land to the west. There, the slopes of the Côte de Beaune carry some of the most closely studied vineyards in France. Minimal linework suits the place: a clear oval of old streets, the boulevard around it, and the roads leading out toward the villages of the wine route.

Hospices quarter
The Hôtel-Dieu stands within the historic core, among narrow streets and small squares. Its courtyard plan sits inside a block pattern shaped by the medieval town.
Roads to the vineyards
Routes leaving the western side of the ring head toward the Côte de Beaune. There the dense town gives way to long, open slopes planted with vines.

Miért Beaune?
Egy térkép, ami jelent valamit
Beaune tends to stay with people who visited for a tasting, a harvest or the November auction, and with those who collect wine from the surrounding slopes. The map makes a quiet companion for a wine room, a kitchen or a study.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps with the year of a vintage or a visit, and choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Printed posters on matte paper, with an optional wooden frame, ship from partners in more than 30 countries.
