Bootle Map Poster & Print
Bootle lies just north of Liverpool on the east bank of the Mersey estuary. The map is organised in bands. Along the river runs a continuous strip of docks and basins. Behind it lie rows of tightly packed Victorian terraces. Further inland, the Leeds and Liverpool Canal curves through the town on its way to its Liverpool terminus.
The town grew with the port in the nineteenth century, and its docks were among the most heavily bombed areas of Britain during the May Blitz of 1941. Much was rebuilt afterward, but the pattern of dock basins, railway lines and terraced streets still gives Bootle a strong, industrial geometry that is easy to recognise from above.
A Bootle map poster turns that working landscape into a striking graphic. The rectangular dock basins along the water, the fine lines of the terraces and the soft curve of the canal together make a composition that belongs to the Mersey and could not be anywhere else.

Leeds and Liverpool Canal
The canal curves through Bootle inland from the docks, a thin continuous line that separates neighbourhoods and ties the town to its industrial past.
Terraced streets
Rows of Victorian terraced houses form parallel lines between the docks and the canal, the fine, regular texture that fills much of the map.

Miért Bootle?
Egy térkép, ami jelent valamit
Bootle is where many Merseyside families have deep roots, often going back through generations of dock work. A map of its terraces, canal and river shore is a way to honour that history and to mark a street that still means home.
The title, subtitle and coordinates can be changed to name a street, a family or a year. Pick Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The $9 HD download includes six print sizes, and printed posters ship from partners in more than 30 countries.
