Bunia Map Poster & Print
Bunia sits on a high plateau in Ituri province, in the far northeast of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, with the escarpment down to Lake Albert and the Ugandan border lying to the east. On a map the city appears as a spreading network of roads and neighbourhoods across gently rolling ground, with farmland pressing in at the edges.
As the capital of Ituri, Bunia is the administrative and commercial hub of a region known for its gold deposits and fertile highland farming. The city has grown quickly in recent decades, drawing people from the surrounding countryside, and it hosts regional offices of many humanitarian and international organisations working in eastern Congo.
A Bunia map poster shows the city as it has taken shape on the plateau: a denser commercial core, main roads radiating toward neighbouring towns, and residential areas unfolding along the contours of the land. Without a river or coast to dominate it, the map is all about the street network, and it presents that network with calm, even detail.

Radiating roads
Main routes leave the centre in several directions, linking Bunia to the rest of Ituri and toward the lake, and giving the map its underlying structure.
Lake Albert escarpment
To the east, the land drops steeply toward Lake Albert along the western branch of the Rift Valley, a dramatic change of landscape beyond the city's immediate surroundings.

Miért Bunia?
Egy térkép, ami jelent valamit
Bunia matters deeply to the families who call it home and to the many people who have lived and worked there for a time. A map of the city is a way to honour that connection, simply and without decoration, on a wall far from Ituri or close to it.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be personalised with a name, a neighbourhood or the dates of a posting. Five styles are available, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, as 300 DPI files and print-ready PDFs or as a printed poster.
