Atlantic coast

Cabinda Map Poster & Print
Cabinda is the capital of the Angolan province of the same name, an exclave separated from the rest of the country by a narrow strip of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. On a map the city follows the Atlantic coast, with the old centre near the shore and newer neighbourhoods spreading inland along a network of roads that grows looser toward the edges.
The province is best known for its offshore oil, which has made it one of the most economically important parts of Angola. Inland, the land rises toward the Mayombe, a dense tropical forest shared with neighbouring countries. The city itself is the region's administrative and commercial centre, with an airport and port linking it to Luanda and the wider world.
A Cabinda map poster presents the city simply: the coastline as a strong, clean edge, the compact centre near the water, and the outward spread of streets toward the forest. In monochrome the relationship between ocean and town becomes the main subject, and the result is a calm, balanced image of a place that sits apart.

Old centre
The oldest part of Cabinda sits close to the coast, with a tighter pattern of streets that contrasts with the more scattered layout of newer districts inland.
Inland growth
Beyond the centre, neighbourhoods extend along main roads into greener, hillier land, giving the map a gradually thinning texture toward the forested interior.

Miért Cabinda?
Egy térkép, ami jelent valamit
Cabinda holds strong meaning for people from the exclave, including many who live in Luanda or abroad, and for those who have worked in its oil industry. The map is a restrained, personal reminder of a distinctive place on the edge of Angola.
