Carrollwood Map Poster & Print
Carrollwood is a community in Hillsborough County, north of central Tampa. It grew from the 1960s onward as a residential district, and it is organised around Lake Carroll, the largest body of water in the area and the source of its name. Homes, streets and a few parks gather around the lake shore, and the rest of the neighbourhood spreads outwards through tree-lined subdivisions.
On the map the lakes do most of the work. Lake Carroll makes a large pale shape near the heart of the community, and smaller lakes and ponds are scattered around it. Residential streets curve to follow their shorelines rather than keeping to a grid. Broader commercial roads, including Dale Mabry Highway, run in straight lines and frame the softer pattern within.
A Carrollwood map poster turns this lake country into a calm graphic. The water becomes clean negative space, and the winding streets trace its edges in fine lines. It looks quite different from the rigid grid of much of Tampa, and many residents will recognise that difference at once.

Shoreline streets
Residential roads bend to follow the lake edges, so the street pattern is curving and irregular rather than square.
Straight corridors
Major roads such as Dale Mabry Highway cut firm straight lines past the curving neighbourhoods and frame the composition.
