Regular street grid
The centre is organised in straight, evenly spaced streets on flat ground, giving the map a clean, measured rhythm that is unusual for towns in the region.

Ceylanpınar Map Poster & Print
Ceylanpınar sits at the southern edge of Şanlıurfa province, on a plain so flat that the town's streets could be laid out almost as a pure grid. Seen from above, long parallel roads run between regular blocks, and the whole settlement stops abruptly at the border with Syria to the south, where it faces the town of Ras al-Ayn across the frontier.
The name means roughly gazelle spring, a reminder of the wildlife and water sources that once defined this part of northern Mesopotamia. Today the surrounding land is best known for the vast state agricultural enterprise that bears the town's name, one of the largest farms in Turkey, whose field boundaries turn the countryside into a patchwork of straight lines.
A Ceylanpınar map poster captures a very particular kind of geography: few curves, no hills to bend the streets, and a hard political edge running across the bottom of the frame. In black and white the result is almost diagrammatic, a town defined by order and open space rather than by winding lanes or water.

Border edge
The southern limit of the town follows the Turkey–Syria frontier, a sharp line on the map with the neighbouring town of Ras al-Ayn directly beyond it.
Farmland patchwork
Around the town, broad rectangular fields of the state farm stretch towards the horizon, their long boundaries continuing the geometry of the streets into open country.

Miért Ceylanpınar?
Egy térkép, ami jelent valamit
For families from Ceylanpınar, now living in Istanbul, Europe or further afield, the town's grid is instantly recognisable. A map poster keeps that shape close, and its graphic simplicity suits modern interiors as well as it suits a gift for someone who left home long ago.
Add a title in your own words, a subtitle or a date, and keep or edit the coordinates line. The design comes in five styles, Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand, as $9 HD files in six sizes or as a matte print shipped from a nearby partner.
