Valley grid
Streets and farm roads meet at right angles across the flat valley floor. The crisp, repetitive geometry continues well beyond the town limits.

Chowchilla Map Poster & Print
Chowchilla lies in Madera County, in the middle of California's San Joaquin Valley. The land here is almost perfectly flat, and the map reflects it. A compact grid of streets surrounds a downtown on the main road, and beyond it straight county roads divide the farmland into large rectangular blocks. The pattern runs on for miles, broken only by canals and the occasional stream.
State Route 99, the valley's main north-south highway, runs past the town, and the Chowchilla River, which shares the town's name, lies to the north. The name comes from the Chowchilla, a Yokuts people of the region. Almond and pistachio orchards, along with other crops, shape much of the surrounding landscape.
From above, the orchards add a subtle texture within the grid, with rows of trees filling the rectangular fields. A Chowchilla map poster draws this ordered landscape in precise lines: a small town within the vast farming geometry of the Central Valley. The result is calm enough for a farmhouse kitchen or a city apartment.

Highway 99 corridor
The main highway through the San Joaquin Valley passes Chowchilla on a long diagonal, linking it to Merced to the north and Fresno to the south.
Canals and river
Irrigation canals and the Chowchilla River add a few curving lines to the otherwise rectilinear landscape. They mark the water that makes the farmland possible.

Miért Chowchilla?
Egy térkép, ami jelent valamit
Chowchilla is a place of family farms, long drives and wide skies, and a map of it keeps that ordered landscape in view. It makes a meaningful gift for someone who grew up here, runs an orchard nearby or has moved away to the coast.
Add a family name as the title and a subtitle with a year, and keep the coordinates line. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Then print it yourself from the 300 DPI files or order a matte poster with an optional wooden frame.
