The circular core
The historic centre forms a compact, rounded knot of narrow lanes, clearly distinct from everything built later and easy to recognise on the map.

Corato Map Poster & Print
Corato lies inland from the Adriatic in the province of Bari, on the gentle rise towards the Murge plateau. From above, its most distinctive feature is the old centre: a compact, roughly circular core of tight streets, wrapped by a ring road that follows the line of the former walls. Newer neighbourhoods spread outward in straighter blocks beyond it.
The town is surrounded by olive groves and vineyards, and olive oil is central to its economy and identity. Like many Apulian agricultural towns, it grew as a dense settlement surrounded by open farmland rather than scattered farmhouses, which gives the map a clear edge between town and countryside. Roads radiate towards Andria, Ruvo and the coast.
A Corato map poster is shaped around that ring. The dense circle at the centre, the orbit of the surrounding road and the grid that follows make an almost diagrammatic image. In a minimalist print, the contrast between the old core and the rational expansion around it reads cleanly at any size.
