Dunhou Map Poster & Print
Dunhou lies in central Jiangxi, in the hilly country of the Gan River basin near the city of Ji'an. From above, the landscape is a patchwork of rice fields, ponds and low wooded hills, and the town is a compact cluster where roads meet. Its streets are practical rather than grand. They follow the terrain and the main routes that link the town to nearby settlements.
Little has been widely written about Dunhou beyond its role as a local centre for the surrounding farmland, and its map is best read on those terms. What matters here is what can be seen from the air: the line of the main road, the density of housing near the centre, and the way the built-up area fades into fields and water.
A Dunhou map poster suits the scale of the place. At poster size, the small ponds and irregular field boundaries around the town become a fine texture, and the street network gives the eye a clear focal point. It is an understated map. It carries personal weight for people who know these roads from memory rather than from a guidebook.

Ponds and paddies
Water is everywhere in this part of Jiangxi: in ponds, in channels and in flooded fields. These small shapes give the map a detailed, almost stippled surface around the town.
Low hills around
Wooded hills rise gently at the edges of the farmland, and roads bend to pass between them. The hills shaped where the town could grow and give the map its irregular outline.

Miért Dunhou?
Egy térkép, ami jelent valamit
Many people from rural Jiangxi now live and work in larger cities far from home. A map of Dunhou keeps the shape of their hometown on the wall, a reminder of family, of festivals and of the journey back each year.
You can set the title and subtitle in your own words, with the coordinates line below. Pick one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. You can get HD files in six sizes for $9, or a matte print with an optional wooden frame.
