The copper pit
The mine forms a big stepped hollow next to the city. Its terraces read almost like contour lines, which gives the print a strong, technical character.

Erdenet Map Poster & Print
Erdenet in northern Mongolia was founded in the 1970s as a joint Mongolian–Soviet project to develop one of the world's larger copper-molybdenum deposits. It has since become one of the largest cities in the country. From above the city is planned and orderly, with straight avenues and large residential blocks laid across a broad valley.
Beside the city lies the open-pit mine itself, a large terraced hollow cut into the mountainside, with processing plants and tailings ponds nearby. At the right scale these features become as prominent on the map as the streets.
Around Erdenet the land opens into steppe and forested hills, crossed by a few roads and the rail line. An Erdenet map poster shows the clear contrast between the planned urban grid, the engineered mining landscape and the wide open country beyond.

Planned avenues
The main city streets follow a clear Soviet-era plan with wide, straight roads and big blocks. The result is a crisp and very readable pattern.
Valley setting
The city fills a broad valley between hills. In wider framings the steppe and the forested slopes around it emphasise how compact the urban area is.

Miért Erdenet?
Egy térkép, ami jelent valamit
For people who work at the mine or grew up in the city's apartment blocks, Erdenet is inseparable from the industry that shaped it. A poster records that relationship between a city and the ground under it.
Title the print in Latin or Cyrillic script, add a year or a line of your own, and keep or edit the coordinates. Noir gives the pit dramatic depth. Blueprint suits the city's engineered origins.
