Terraced street pattern
Rows of narrow Victorian terraces run side by side across much of the town, producing the close, striped texture typical of former mill towns around Manchester.

Farnworth Map Poster & Print
Farnworth is a town in the borough of Bolton, in Greater Manchester, lying between Bolton and the Irwell valley. On a map it is dense and finely textured: long rows of terraced streets from the cotton era, packed tightly together, broken up by main roads, a railway line and later housing estates toward the edges.
The town grew quickly in the nineteenth century around mills and collieries. Farnworth Park, opened in 1864 by William Gladstone, forms a generous green space among the terraces. To the north, Moses Gate Country Park follows the valley of the River Croal, and the M61 motorway runs past to the south and west, marking the town's outer edge.
A Farnworth map poster turns this working-town plan into something unexpectedly graphic. The parallel terraces create a strong, repeated pattern, while the park, the valley and the curve of the motorway give it structure. Printed in black and white, it reads like an engraving of industrial Lancashire, precise and full of small detail.

Farnworth Park
Opened in 1864 by Gladstone, the park is a clear open space among the tight streets, its paths and lawns easy to trace on the map.
Croal valley
The green corridor of Moses Gate Country Park follows the river toward the Irwell, a softer, irregular strip along the town's northern side.
