Rounded old town
The historic centre forms a compact, almost circular shape around the market, with streets following the line of the old walls. It is the densest part of the print.

Großenhain Map Poster & Print
Großenhain lies on the Große Röder river in the district of Meißen, north of Dresden, and is known locally as the Röderstadt. Its historic core is compact and roughly round, with a market square and church at the centre. The streets curve along the line of the former town fortifications. Newer districts spread outward from this core in a looser pattern.
The town has a notable place in the history of reading. In 1828 the educator Karl Benjamin Preusker founded a library here that is often described as the first public library in Germany. At the edge of town lies a large airfield with a long military history, and its runway and open grounds form one of the most distinctive shapes on the map.
A Großenhain map poster balances these elements: the dense old centre, the winding river and the wide, geometric space of the airfield. Together they give the print both detail and breathing room. The composition feels grounded and belongs clearly to this corner of Saxony rather than to any small German town.

Große Röder
The river flows past the town and gives it its nickname. On the poster its winding course softens the edges of the built-up area.
The airfield
A large open space with a straight runway lies at the town's edge. This bold geometric element contrasts with the organic streets of the old town.

Miért Großenhain?
Egy térkép, ami jelent valamit
Großenhain is the kind of town people stay connected to long after leaving, through family, school friends or a house near the market. A map of it makes a grounded, personal piece of decor that says where you come from without needing an explanation.
You can change the title and subtitle, for example to a street name and the year you moved in, and edit the coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, then order the HD files for $9 or a matte print, framed if you like.
