Gunung Jerai
The mountain rises steeply to the west of town, and on the map its forested slopes appear as a large open area, crossed by a single winding road toward the summit.

Gurun Map Poster & Print
Gurun lies in southern Kedah, on the lowland just east of Gunung Jerai, the mountain that rises alone above the surrounding plain and has long served as a landmark for sailors along the coast. On a map, the town appears as a tidy cluster of streets beside the main north-south road and railway, with open agricultural land stretching away around it.
The mountain and the Bujang Valley archaeological area on its southern side give this part of Kedah a deep history, with remains of early trading settlements dating back well over a thousand years. Gurun itself is a more recent town, shaped by roads, rail and plantations, and its centre is a straightforward grid of commercial streets.
A Gurun map poster frames the town between two scales of landscape: the steep mass of Gunung Jerai to the west and the flat pattern of fields and estates to the east. The North-South Expressway and the railway cut clean, roughly parallel lines through the scene, making the composition feel ordered and calm.

Road and rail
The expressway and the west coast railway run through the area almost side by side, forming strong linear features that anchor the whole composition.
Town grid
The centre of Gurun is laid out as a compact grid of streets, easy to read on the poster and ringed by newer housing areas on its edges.
