Itabirito River
The river runs through the middle of town and gives the map its central line. Older streets gather close to its banks, and bridges connect the neighbourhoods on either side of the valley.

Itabirito Map Poster & Print
Itabirito lies in central Minas Gerais, south of Belo Horizonte and on the road toward Ouro Preto, in the iron-bearing hill country known as the Quadrilátero Ferrífero. From above, the town does not follow a grid. Its streets curve along the Itabirito River and climb the slopes on either side, so the built area spreads outward in uneven arms that follow the contours of the land.
The town grew out of the eighteenth-century gold rush in Minas Gerais, and mining still shapes the region. Its name refers to itabirite, the banded iron rock found throughout these hills. Nearby stands the Pico do Itabirito, a rocky peak of that same stone that is protected as a heritage site and has long served as a landmark for travellers crossing the region.
A Itabirito map poster shows how closely the town is tied to its terrain. The river gives the centre a clear spine. Neighbourhoods branch off it along ridges and hollows, and the gaps between them mark hillsides too steep to build on. In black and white, the pattern looks almost organic, closer to a river delta or a leaf than to a planned city.

Contour-shaped streets
Instead of straight blocks, roads wind with the slopes and break into short curving segments. That gives the poster a loose, hand-drawn texture typical of the hill towns of Minas Gerais.
Iron country edges
Around the town, the street network gives way to open, rugged land of the Quadrilátero Ferrífero, where iron-rich ridges and the Pico do Itabirito shape the horizon beyond the frame.

Miért Itabirito?
Egy térkép, ami jelent valamit
Itabirito means something to people raised among the hills of Minas Gerais, to families tied to its mining history, and to travellers on the way to Ouro Preto. The winding street pattern makes an understated wall piece that still clearly belongs to one particular place.
Add your own title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps a street name, a wedding date or the year you moved away. Then choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand to suit the frame and the room.
