Paraíba do Sul
The wide river runs along the town and dominates the map. Its sandbanks and islands give the waterline an irregular shape that changes along the edge of the frame.

Itaocara Map Poster & Print
Itaocara lies in the northwestern part of Rio de Janeiro state, some distance inland from the coast and the metropolitan area. The town was built along the Paraíba do Sul, one of southeastern Brazil's major rivers. From above, the broad channel of the river and the islands in it are the clearest features, and the streets arrange themselves along the bank.
The urban area is compact. It has a central grid near the water, a main square with a church, and neighbourhoods that climb gently onto the surrounding higher ground. Past the edge of town the land opens into pasture and low hills, crossed by country roads that link Itaocara to nearby towns in the region.
An Itaocara map poster follows the river through the frame. The town sits on one bank, the channel widens and narrows, and the fields spread into the distance. It is a quiet composition that gives a clear sense of how a small interior town relates to the water that runs past it.

Riverside grid
The oldest streets form a modest grid near the water, with the main square among them. The rest of the town has grown outward from this core.
Surrounding hills
Beyond the built-up area, roads wind through gently rolling countryside. On the poster they appear as thin lines leading away from the river.

Miért Itaocara?
Egy térkép, ami jelent valamit
Itaocara is the kind of hometown people carry with them when they move to Rio, São Paulo or further afield. A map of the town and its river is an understated way to keep that connection on the wall.
Put the town's name or a family name in the title, add a date or a line in Portuguese as the subtitle, and keep or change the coordinates. Blueprint and Noir strengthen the river line. Paper and Sand give a warmer finish.
