Serekunda's street mesh
The dense, irregular street pattern of Serekunda fills much of the municipality, producing a fine, almost textile-like texture across the centre of the poster.

Kanifing Map Poster & Print
Kanifing is the urban municipality that adjoins Banjul on the Gambian mainland, and together they form the country's main built-up area. Where Banjul sits on its island at the mouth of the Gambia River, Kanifing spreads across flatter ground to the west and south, a broad and fairly continuous fabric of streets, compounds and markets. It includes Serekunda, the largest urban area in the country.
On the map, the area reads as one of the densest street networks in the country. Main roads run through it in long lines, linking the coast, the interior and the route across Oyster Creek into Banjul, while a mass of smaller streets fills the spaces between them. Toward the north-west, coastal districts such as Bakau meet the Atlantic.
Kanifing is the commercial heart of the Greater Banjul area, home to markets, offices and much of the country's everyday urban life. A Kanifing map poster turns that intensity into pattern: a close-grained mesh of lines, the straighter main roads cutting through it, and the coast and creeks giving edges to the composition.

Main arterial roads
A few long, straighter roads run through the built-up area, linking the coast with Banjul and the interior and giving the map a clear framework.
Oyster Creek edge
To the east, the creeks and mangroves that separate the mainland from Banjul's island form a natural border, a softer, wetter edge to the streets.

Miért Kanifing?
Egy térkép, ami jelent valamit
Many Gambians abroad trace their family roots to Serekunda and the neighbourhoods around it. A map of Kanifing lets them hang the whole district on a wall far from home: the markets, the main roads and the familiar compounds.
Write your own title and subtitle, perhaps a neighbourhood or family name, and adjust the coordinates line if you wish. Pick from five styles, from Classic black & white to Blueprint, then download the $9 HD files or order a framed or unframed print.
