Teltow Canal
The canal forms a straight, engineered border along the north. It is the sharpest line on the map and marks the boundary with Berlin.

Kleinmachnow Map Poster & Print
Kleinmachnow sits just across the city boundary from Berlin's Zehlendorf district. Its northern edge is defined by the Teltow Canal, a straight artificial waterway that cuts cleanly across the map. The streets to the south are mostly residential, and many of them are curved. They were laid out as garden-city estates in the early twentieth century, with houses set among trees and gardens.
For almost three decades the Berlin Wall ran along the edge of Kleinmachnow, separating it from West Berlin. The route of the border can still be traced on the map as a strip of green and paths. The Machnower See, a small lake in the south of the municipality, and the historic Hakeburg estate add further detail.
A Kleinmachnow map poster is defined by contrast. The canal gives the top of the frame a strong straight line, while the curving estate streets below give it softness. In black and white, the sheet has a calm, orderly look that fits the character of the place well.

Curving estates
Much of the town is made up of gently curving residential roads from the early twentieth century. From above, they form soft loops instead of a grid.
The former border
The route of the Wall can still be traced as a narrow strip along the edge of the town. It adds a line with a heavy history to an otherwise quiet map.

Miért Kleinmachnow?
Egy térkép, ami jelent valamit
Kleinmachnow is a place people choose deliberately: close to Berlin, yet quiet and green. A map of the town marks a family home, a move out of the city, or a connection to the history of the divided Berlin.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, adding a moving date perhaps, and choose one of five styles. Order a matte poster, framed if you like, or download the $9 HD files for printing.
