The estuary
Several rivers join and widen into a large estuary next to the town. On the map they form broad open shapes that divide the land into islands and narrow peninsulas.

Kundapura Map Poster & Print
Kundapura is in Udupi district, on the coast of Karnataka, and water shapes almost everything on its map. The town sits beside a wide estuary. Several rivers come together here before they reach the Arabian Sea, so the land is divided into peninsulas, islands and long spits of sand. Streets follow the dry ground, and bridges and causeways connect the pieces.
On a map, the town looks like a compact grid on firm land with water wrapped around it. To the west, a thin strip of sand separates the backwaters from the open sea, and there are beaches along it. The coastal highway and the Konkan Railway both pass nearby and follow the shoreline in long, gentle curves. The town's name is usually linked to the old Kundeshwara temple.
A Kundapura map poster turns this mix of water and land into a clean graphic. The estuary becomes wide blank shapes, and the sandbars become fine lines. The town's streets form a denser cluster at the centre. This coast is known for its fishing harbours and long beaches, and on paper the whole area reads as land and water pressed tightly together.

Sand spit shoreline
A thin strip of sand runs between the backwaters and the Arabian Sea, with beaches along its outer edge. It is one of the most distinctive lines on this part of the coast.
Coastal corridors
The coastal highway and the Konkan Railway run through the area side by side. Their long curves cross rivers on bridges and link Kundapura with the rest of the Karnataka coast.

Miért Kundapura?
Egy térkép, ami jelent valamit
Anyone who grew up by these backwaters or spent time on the beaches here will recognise the pattern straight away: water everywhere, and the town holding its ground in the middle. It is a calm, open map that suits a bright room.
You can add your own title, subtitle or a meaningful date, and choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint brings out the estuary, and Sand matches the coast.
