Leigh Map Poster & Print
Leigh sits on the flat ground between Wigan and Manchester, and from above it still reads like the textile and coal town it once was. Rows of terraced streets fill the spaces between old mill sites, and larger roads run out toward neighbouring towns. The pattern is dense near the centre and loosens toward the edges, where housing gives way to fields, reclaimed land and water.
The canals are what set the town apart on a map. The Bridgewater Canal arrives from the east and meets the Leigh Branch of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal here, so the two waterways join inside the town. To the southwest, Pennington Flash spreads out as a large, irregular lake. It formed when old mine workings made the ground subside, and it is now a country park.
A Leigh map poster keeps that working-town character without any decoration. The tight blocks of terraces, the steady line of the canals and the open shape of the flash stand out clearly in black and white. The town is also known for rugby league, and the Leigh Leopards have long been part of local life. Seen whole, the town is a compact and legible piece of Lancashire's industrial landscape.

Pennington Flash
A broad lake formed by mining subsidence lies southwest of the centre. Its uneven shoreline and the parkland around it make a large pale shape against the surrounding streets.
Terraced street grids
Rows of closely packed terraced houses fill the older districts, a fine repeating texture typical of mill towns in the North West.

Miért Leigh?
Egy térkép, ami jelent valamit
People from Leigh often want a map that reflects where they grew up: the terraces, the canal towpaths and the walk around the flash. It is a quiet way to keep a hometown on the wall, whether you still live there or moved away years ago.
You can add your own title, a subtitle and a coordinates line, such as a street name or a family date. The design comes in five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. You can download it as a digital HD file or order it printed on matte paper, with an optional wooden frame.
