Mettmann Map Poster & Print
Mettmann sits on rolling ground east of Düsseldorf, where the flat Rhine plain begins to rise into the hills of the Bergisches Land. On a map the town looks compact, with an older core of short, winding streets on higher ground and newer residential areas spreading outward along ridges and gentle slopes, interrupted by fields and patches of woodland.
The town's best-known neighbour is the Neandertal, the valley of the small Düssel river just south of the centre. In 1856 quarry workers there found the fossil bones that gave their name to Neanderthal man, and the Neanderthal Museum now stands in the valley. Mettmann is also the administrative seat of the district that carries its name.
A Mettmann map poster shows how the town is held between different landscapes: dense streets in the centre, the narrow green cut of the valley to the south, and open farmland toward the east. Roads curve to follow the terrain rather than a grid, which gives the map a soft, organic feel even in its more built-up parts.

Hilltop old town
Mettmann's historic centre sits on higher ground, its short, irregular streets clustered tightly before opening into later residential areas.
Edge of the hills
Roads bend around ridges and slopes as the land rises toward the Bergisches Land, giving the street pattern a gently curving character.

Miért Mettmann?
Egy térkép, ami jelent valamit
Mettmann suits those who know it as home and those who come for the valley and its story. A map that includes the Neandertal carries a quiet reference to one of the best-known discoveries in human prehistory, without needing any explanation on the wall.
Set your own title and subtitle, add a meaningful date, and choose from five styles: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Printed posters ship from partners in more than 30 countries, and HD files cover six common frame sizes.
