The Nabari River
The river winds through the valley at the heart of the town. The older streets follow its curves, giving the central part of the map a flowing line that contrasts with the hills around it.

Nabari Map Poster & Print
Nabari lies in the Iga area of western Mie Prefecture, close to the border with Nara. The terrain is hilly and wooded, and the map reflects it. The older town follows the Nabari River along the valley floor, with streets bending to match the water, while the surrounding slopes are cut into by roads that climb, loop and branch in response to the hills.
From the second half of the twentieth century, Nabari grew as a commuter town for Osaka, served by the Kintetsu line. Large residential districts were laid out on the hills around the centre, and on a map they appear as neat, self-contained patterns of curving streets set among forest. To the southwest lie the Akame 48 Waterfalls, a well-known gorge walk in a quasi-national park.
A Nabari map poster brings those layers together: the river valley with its older street pattern, the rail corridor, and the planned suburbs spread across the ridges. Large areas of forest between them stay empty on the page, which gives the composition space and makes each settled area easy to read. It works especially well in the Paper and Sand styles.

Hillside new towns
Planned residential districts sit on the higher ground around the centre. From above they look like separate clusters of looping streets and cul-de-sacs, divided from each other by strips of forest.
Rail to Osaka
The Kintetsu line crosses the town and links it to Osaka and Nagoya. On the map it runs as a steady line through the valley, tying the scattered neighbourhoods to the stations.

Miért Nabari?
Egy térkép, ami jelent valamit
Nabari is a place where many families settled for the quiet of the hills while working in Osaka. A map of the town recalls the daily commute, a house on a hillside street, or walks up to the waterfalls. It suits people who like order in a picture without it feeling cold.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can all be personalised, for example with a district name and the year you moved in. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, and download HD files for $9 or order a matte print with an optional wooden frame.
