Omono riverbank
The wide river and its floodplain curve past the town. This open space is where the fireworks are launched and watched, and it forms a broad pale band on the poster.

Ōmagari Map Poster & Print
Ōmagari lies in the Senboku plain in Akita Prefecture, where the Omono river and its tributaries flow through a wide, flat basin of rice fields surrounded by mountains. Since 2005 it has been part of the city of Daisen. On the map, the town is a compact grid of streets between the railway and the river, with paddy fields beyond.
Ōmagari is known throughout Japan for its fireworks. Every summer, the national fireworks competition takes place on the riverbank, and pyrotechnicians from across the country compete there. The broad, open floodplain that serves as the viewing area is clearly visible on the map. The town's station, on the Akita Shinkansen line, is another major point in the layout.
An Ōmagari map poster shows the river curving past the town, the station, the ordered streets and the patchwork of rice fields around them. It is a quiet design with a strong connection to one of Japan's great summer events, and a meaningful choice for people from Akita and for those who travelled to see the fireworks.

Station district
Streets gather around the railway station on the Akita Shinkansen line. The tracks give the composition a firm straight line against the river's curves.
Rice-field basin
Flat paddy fields surround the built area in a fine rectilinear pattern. At the edge of the poster they create a quiet texture typical of rural Tohoku.
