Sura River
The Sura winds north through the city with oxbows and side channels, dividing the districts and giving the map a soft, irregular line through its centre.

Penza Map Poster & Print
Penza lies on the Sura River in the Volga region of European Russia, southeast of Moscow. It was founded in 1663 as a fortress on the country's southeastern frontier, where the small Penza River meets the Sura. The historic centre stands on higher ground above the river, and the broad valley opens below it with meadows, old channels and bridges leading across.
The central streets follow an orderly pattern typical of Russian provincial capitals. Moskovskaya Street, largely pedestrian, runs as a long spine through the heart of the city. Beyond the core, districts spread across both banks and are joined by bridges, with the river meandering between them through floodplain meadows. Residential areas of later decades extend outward in larger, looser blocks.
A Penza map poster captures that mix of order and water: tidy blocks on the upland, looser suburbs further out and the curves of the Sura setting the rhythm. Upstream, south of the city, the river widens into the Sura Reservoir, which appears as a broad band of water when the frame is pulled back.

Moskovskaya Street
The long central street forms the main axis of the historic core, a straight line through regular blocks that makes the city's original plan easy to read.
Sura Reservoir
Upstream of the city, the reservoir spreads into a wide body of water, a good feature for larger framings that take in the surrounding forest and countryside.

Miért Penza?
Egy térkép, ami jelent valamit
Penza is the kind of city people carry with them after moving to Moscow or abroad: a school near the centre, walks along the river, a family flat across the bridge. The map shows that geography plainly, and its quiet lines suit a bookshelf wall or an entrance hall.
Add a surname, a graduation year or a street name in the title and subtitle, and keep or rewrite the coordinates. Choose any of five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, and download the $9 HD files or order a print.
