The Wallring
A ring road follows the course of the old fortifications and wraps the historic centre in a near-circle. It is the most recognisable shape anywhere on the map.

Recklinghausen Map Poster & Print
Recklinghausen marks the point where the dense Ruhr gives way to the flatter, greener country of the Vest. On a map, the old town stands out immediately. It is a small, nearly round core held inside a ring road that follows the line of the medieval walls. Narrow streets run from its market place towards the old gates.
Outside the ring, the city spreads in suburbs, former colliery settlements and parks. To the south, the Rhine–Herne Canal and the Emscher cut a firm line across the plan. Recklinghausen is known for the Ruhrfestspiele theatre festival and for its icon museum, one of the most significant collections of its kind outside the Orthodox world.
A Recklinghausen map poster rewards a close look. The ring road draws a clear circle, and the finer grain of the old town contrasts with the looser layout of the mining-era districts. The canal adds a hard straight edge in the south, so the composition feels balanced and legible.

Rhine–Herne Canal
In the south, the canal runs as a straight engineered line beside the Emscher. It is a clear reminder of the Ruhr's industrial waterways and of the coal once carried along them.
Colliery settlements
Former mining districts sit around the centre with their own street patterns and green spaces. Each one reads as its own small plan within the larger city.

Miért Recklinghausen?
Egy térkép, ami jelent valamit
Recklinghausen is a good choice for people from the Vest, festival regulars, or anyone who knows the Ruhr well. The compact ring of the old town gives the poster a strong focal point, and it holds up at every print size.
You can set the title, add a subtitle such as a district name or a date, and edit the coordinates line. Then pick Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand to suit your wall.
