Central plaza grid
The oldest blocks form a near-regular chessboard around the main square. This is the classic layout of Antioquian towns, and it shows clearly as the dense heart of the poster.

Santuario Map Poster & Print
El Santuario sits in the eastern highlands of Antioquia, the upland country beyond Medellín where towns grew at altitude among small farms and steep valleys. From above, its centre follows the pattern of colonial foundations across Colombia. A regular grid of blocks gathers around a main square, the parish church faces the plaza, and streets run out in straight lines until the terrain stops them.
Beyond the compact core, the lines loosen. Roads leave the grid and bend to follow ridges and streams. Newer neighbourhoods fill the gentler slopes, and the lanes of the surrounding veredas run between fields. The orderly centre and the looser edges set each other off in black and white, where every block and every curving road can be seen clearly.
A Santuario map poster shows that relationship at a scale where you can still read individual streets. It is often chosen by people with roots in the Oriente Antioqueño, a region whose families stay closely tied to their home towns wherever they live now. The map puts the town's familiar layout into one quiet image, with no colour or labels to distract from it.

Highland edges
At the margins the grid gives way to roads that bend with the land. They show how the town meets the ridges and streams of the eastern Antioquia plateau.
Rural lanes
Thin country roads branch out through the surrounding farmland to the outlying veredas, giving the poster a loose outer frame.

Miért Santuario?
Egy térkép, ami jelent valamit
For anyone who grew up in Santuario or still has relatives there, the poster is a portrait of home that needs no caption. The plaza, the familiar blocks and the roads out of town are all there, drawn plainly like a printed map rather than a photograph.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with a family name or the date someone left for the city. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, then download the $9 HD files or order a printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
