Compact centre
The older part of town is a tight mesh of narrow streets and small blocks. It is the densest area on the map and its natural focal point.

Sarāvān Map Poster & Print
Sarāvān lies in Sistan and Baluchestan province, close to Iran's border with Pakistan, and is one of the main towns of the Baluch region. Its map reflects life in a dry landscape. A compact centre of closely packed streets is surrounded by farmland and groves that depend on scarce water, and beyond them wide stretches of empty ground reach toward the hills.
The town is a market and administrative centre for a large rural district. Date palms and other crops grow in the surrounding area wherever there is enough water. On a map these green areas appear as irregular patches around the streets, a quiet contrast with the bare land further out, where only a few roads and tracks cross the open ground.
A Sarāvān map poster is minimal almost by nature. The settled area is concentrated, the roads leading away from it are few and long, and the empty land gives the design a strong sense of space. It suits people from Baluchestan who now live elsewhere in Iran or abroad, for whom the shape of the town is a direct link to home.

Cultivated fringe
Around the streets, fields and groves form irregular patches wherever water allows farming. They soften the edge between the town and the desert.
Long desert roads
A few roads leave the town and run for long distances across open ground. They link it to the rest of the province and give the poster strong directional lines.

Miért Sarāvān?
Egy térkép, ami jelent valamit
A map of Sarāvān is rarely something you can buy in a shop, and that is part of its value. For those who grew up here or have family in the region, it is a clear and respectful image of a place that usually gets only a passing mention.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, and choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The $9 download includes six sizes without a watermark, as PNG and print-ready PDF files. Printed posters on matte paper are also available.
