Looping residential streets
Post-war and later housing arranges itself in crescents and cul-de-sacs, forming soft, rounded shapes that contrast with the straight lines of the main roads leading back toward central Derby.

Sinfin Map Poster & Print
Sinfin sits on the southern side of Derby, and from above it reads as a place where the city loosens its grip. Curving residential streets and closed loops of housing give way to broad industrial footprints, and then to the open ground of moor and farmland beyond. On a monochrome map, those three textures sit side by side with unusual clarity.
The district is closely tied to engineering. Rolls-Royce has long operated a large site here, and its expansive buildings and service roads show up as big, calm rectangles against the finer grain of the surrounding housing. It is a reminder that much of Derby's identity was built in places like this, just beyond the centre.
A Sinfin map poster captures that meeting point: suburban streets drawn in delicate lines, heavier industrial blocks, and the unbuilt spaces that frame them. It suits anyone who grew up, worked or settled here, and who knows this corner of Derby by its roundabouts, its short-cuts and the view south toward open country.

Engineering footprint
The large industrial and engineering sites appear as wide, simple blocks on the map, their scale clearly different from the tight residential pattern that surrounds them.
Open southern edge
South of the built-up area, the density drops away quickly into moor and fields, giving the composition a clean boundary where the street network simply stops.

Miért Sinfin?
Egy térkép, ami jelent valamit
For people from Derby, Sinfin is often the everyday part of the story: the route to work, the first house, the school run. A map of it recognises those ordinary streets as something worth framing, drawn with the same care usually given to famous city centres.
You can add your own title, a subtitle such as a date or family name, and the coordinates line. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, then download HD files for $9 or order a printed poster.
