Seat Fortress
The medieval fortress stands on a spur of high ground above the valley. Its ruins and surrounding park form a distinct open shape at the edge of the built-up area.

Suceava Map Poster & Print
Suceava lies in north-eastern Romania on a plateau above the Suceava River, in the historic region of Bukovina. From 1388 to 1565 it was the capital of the Principality of Moldavia, and the map still shows traces of that role. The old centre occupies high ground, with streets curving around its churches, while the fortress ruins stand on a spur overlooking the river valley.
The Seat Fortress, associated with Stephen the Great, overlooks the valley on the eastern side of town. Close to the centre stands the Monastery of Saint John the New, whose church is part of a UNESCO World Heritage listing. Suceava is also the usual starting point for visits to the painted monasteries of Bukovina, known for their exterior frescoes.
A Suceava map poster frames the city on its terraces above the river, with the curving streets of the old core, apartment districts spread along the plateau, and railway and industrial areas lower down in the valley. In black and white, the relief shows in the way roads bend and climb, giving the map a layered, almost three-dimensional feel.

Historic centre
Around the central squares, streets curve around churches and old public buildings, a looser pattern that reflects the town's medieval origins on the plateau.
Suceava River valley
Below the city the river meanders through a broad valley, where rail lines, stations and industrial zones run parallel to its course.
