Tarikere Map Poster & Print
Tarikere is a town in Chikkamagaluru district, Karnataka, where the open Deccan plains begin to rise toward the forested Western Ghats. From above it forms a compact centre of streets along the main road and railway, with residential areas spreading into the surrounding farmland.
The countryside around it is agricultural, with areca nut and coconut plantations common in this part of Karnataka. To the west the land grows hillier and more wooded. The Bhadra River and its reservoir at Lakkavalli lie within the wider taluk, and the Bhadra tiger reserve extends across the hills beyond.
A Tarikere map poster balances town and landscape. The streets of the centre are clear and legible, while a wider frame takes in tanks, plantations and the roads toward Shivamogga and Chikkamagaluru. In black and white, the shift from the town's streets to the irregular lines of the hills makes for a varied composition.

Irrigation tanks
The name ends in kere, the Kannada word for a lake or tank, and water bodies of this kind appear as smooth open shapes across the surrounding countryside.
Toward the Bhadra
West of the town the roads head toward the Bhadra valley and its reservoir, where the map becomes quieter and more wooded.
