Railroad downtown
The historic centre grew up around the rail junction. Its straight, closely spaced blocks are easy to pick out among the looser layouts of the surrounding subdivisions.

Tracy Map Poster & Print
Tracy lies in San Joaquin County, on the western edge of California's Central Valley, where flat farmland meets the foot of the Altamont Pass. It began in 1878 as a railroad junction on the Central Pacific line, and the older downtown still follows a compact grid near the tracks. Around it, newer neighbourhoods spread outward in loops and cul-de-sacs.
From above, transport lines frame the city. Interstate 205 runs along its northern side and Interstate 580 passes to the southwest. Beyond them, the California Aqueduct and the Delta-Mendota Canal trace long, smooth lines across the fields. Much of the surrounding land is still orchards and row crops, laid out in the rectangular plots typical of the valley.
A Tracy map poster shows a city that is still growing: an old railroad core, a ring of postwar and recent subdivisions, and the farm grid waiting beyond. The composition is clean and orderly. The contrast between the valley's straight lines and the curved residential streets gives the print a quietly graphic character.

Freeway frame
Interstates 205 and 580 bracket the city. Their broad interchanges and long curves form a strong line on the map between the suburbs and open land.
Canals and fields
Southwest of the city, the California Aqueduct and the Delta-Mendota Canal run side by side through the farmland, two long ribbons of water across a patchwork of fields.

Miért Tracy?
Egy térkép, ami jelent valamit
Tracy is home to many people who commute to the Bay Area and to families who have lived in the valley for generations. A map of the city is a simple, personal way to mark a first house, a childhood street or a move inland, with no famous skyline needed.
Add your own title and subtitle, such as a street name and the year you moved in, plus a coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Then order a matte print, or download the 300 DPI files for $9.
