The Riachuelo edge
The river forms the northern boundary of the locality, its meanders cutting a clean dividing line between the provincial grid and the neighbourhoods of the capital on the far bank.

Valentín Alsina Map Poster & Print
Valentín Alsina is a locality in Lanús Partido, in the southern part of Greater Buenos Aires. It sits directly on the Riachuelo, the river that marks the boundary between the province and the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. On a map the Riachuelo forms its northern edge, a slow meandering line with the capital's Nueva Pompeya district on the opposite bank.
The streets fill almost every available space in a tight grid of rectangular blocks, the typical pattern of the conurbano. Larger footprints of former factories and workshops break the rhythm here and there, reminders of the area's long industrial past along the river. Avenues cut diagonally and lengthwise through the grid, leading south into the rest of Lanús.
A Valentín Alsina map poster is defined by that meeting of river and grid. The Puente Alsina and the other crossings stitch the locality to the city across the water, and in black and white the contrast between the dense blocks and the single curving river makes for a strong, graphic composition.

Puente Alsina
The bridge that shares the locality's name has long connected it with Nueva Pompeya, and it appears on the map as a short, decisive link across the water.
Industrial footprints
Among the small residential blocks, larger rectangles mark former factories and depots, breaking the regular grid and recording the working-class, industrial character of the riverside.
