Plaça Major
The large, arcaded main square is a clear open rectangle within the dense centre, and on market days it still fills with stalls.

Vic Map Poster & Print
Vic is the capital of the Osona comarca in central Catalonia, in the middle of a wide, fertile plain surrounded by hills. The historic centre is a dense, rounded shape of narrow streets. Its outline is still traced by a sequence of rambles, the broad avenues built along the line of the former city walls. The small river Mèder runs along the edge of the old town.
At the heart of the plan is the Plaça Major, often called the Mercadal. It is one of the largest squares in Catalonia and has held a market since medieval times. Nearby stand the neoclassical cathedral with its Romanesque bell tower and a Roman temple, rediscovered in the nineteenth century when buildings around it were demolished. Vic is also known across Spain for its cured sausages.
A Vic map poster shows a classic Catalan market town: a tight historic kernel, a ring of wider avenues and newer districts of more regular blocks spreading across the plain. The large rectangle of the square stands out clearly among the old streets and gives the composition a natural focal point.

Ring of rambles
Wide avenues follow the course of the old walls around the historic core, drawing a near-continuous loop that separates old and new Vic.
Mèder river
The small river curves along the edge of the old town, crossed by old and new bridges, and gives the plan a soft natural boundary.

Miért Vic?
Egy térkép, ami jelent valamit
Vic is a town of weekly routines, such as the market in the square and walks along the rambles, and a map of it suits people who know those routines well. Personalise the title with your own words, add a date or a street name to the subtitle, and keep the coordinates line.
Paper and Sand echo the stone tones of the old town, while Classic black & white, Noir and Blueprint give it a more graphic edge. The $9 download includes six sizes as PNG and PDF files. Matte printed posters, framed or unframed, ship from partners in more than 30 countries.
