Lac d'Allier
A dam across the Allier widens the river into a long lake. It is the largest open surface on the map and a calm band that anchors the whole composition.

Vichy Map Poster & Print
Vichy spreads along the right bank of the Allier, and the river dominates any map of the town. A dam turns this stretch into the wide Lac d'Allier, and a continuous band of parks laid out in the nineteenth century runs along the water. Behind them, the centre forms a compact grid of avenues, hotels and villas built for visitors who came to take the waters.
The spa quarter is the heart of the plan. The Parc des Sources, framed by covered galleries, links the thermal buildings with the casino and opera, and gives the map a clear rectangular centre. In 2021 Vichy was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List as one of the Great Spa Towns of Europe, alongside places such as Baden-Baden and Spa.
The name also carries a heavier memory: Vichy was the seat of Pétain's French State from 1940 to 1944. Today the town is better known for its mineral water, its pastilles and rowing on the lake. A Vichy map poster brings all of this back to the outline: the water, the parks, the avenues and the bridges to the far bank.

Parc des Sources
The rectangular spa park with its covered galleries sits at the centre of town. Its clear geometric shape links the thermal quarter with the casino and opera buildings.
Riverside gardens
Landscaped parks laid out under Napoleon III follow the curve of the water. Their winding paths contrast with the straighter avenues of the town behind them.

Miért Vichy?
Egy térkép, ami jelent valamit
Vichy suits anyone who has spent a cure, a summer or a regatta there, or who simply likes maps where water and parks carry the design. Add a title and subtitle of your choosing, perhaps a year or an occasion, and keep the coordinates line as a precise finishing touch.
Sand and Paper give the riverside parks a warm period feel, Blueprint sharpens the grid, and Noir or Classic black & white suit modern rooms. The six print sizes come as 300 DPI PNG and PDF files for $9. You can also order a framed matte print.
