Branching lanes
Narrow streets fork and rejoin around houses and plots in an irregular web. They give the map a fine, organic texture unlike any planned grid.

Villukuri Map Poster & Print
Villukuri lies in the Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu, near the southern tip of the Indian subcontinent. The land here is greener and more crowded than much of the state, set between the Western Ghats and the sea. On a map, the town is less a compact block than a network of lanes spreading through planted land.
Streets run informally, following old paths between houses, temples, churches and gardens. Main roads connect Villukuri with nearby towns in the district, and between them the settled land mixes with paddy fields, water tanks and coconut groves. The line between town and village is often blurred, as it is across much of this densely settled region.
A Villukuri map poster shows the fine, branching pattern of this southern landscape: lanes that fork and rejoin, roads that link one settlement to the next and the soft shapes of water and fields in between. It is a quiet, detailed print. It suits people with ties to the town who want an exact reminder of home.

District roads
A few main roads carry traffic to neighbouring towns across Kanyakumari district. On the poster they form the clearest, most continuous lines.
Tanks and fields
Irrigation tanks and paddy land appear as open shapes among the settled areas. They break up the street pattern and give the print breathing room.

Miért Villukuri?
Egy térkép, ami jelent valamit
Many families from Kanyakumari district live and work far from home, in Chennai, in the Gulf or further away. A map of Villukuri keeps the lanes of the home town on the wall, a personal piece that needs no explanation to anyone who grew up there.
You can change the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example to add a family name or a special date. Then choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Paper and Sand suit the warm, green landscape.
