The Rianila River
The river is the town's defining feature from above, a broad curving line crossing the plain toward the sea, with the settlement drawn tightly along its banks.

Vohibinany Map Poster & Print
Vohibinany, still widely known by its colonial-era name Brickaville, lies in the Atsinanana region on Madagascar's humid eastern lowlands. From above, the town is defined by the Rianila River, which winds across the plain toward the nearby Indian Ocean coast. The built area sits close to the water, with streets gathering around the river crossing rather than spreading out in a planned grid.
The town is a waypoint on the national road linking Antananarivo with the port of Toamasina, and the eastern railway also runs through the area. On a map these two routes read as long, deliberate lines cutting through a looser pattern of lanes, paths and small clusters of buildings. A Vohibinany map poster turns that meeting of river, road and rail into a clean, legible composition.
Around the town, the landscape opens into low, well-watered country crossed by streams and channels, with the coastline and its lagoons not far to the east. In black and white, the rivers become the strongest shapes on the sheet, curving strokes set against finer lines of streets. The result is quiet and graphic, a record of a place shaped more by water than by planning.

Road and rail
The national road to Toamasina and the eastern railway pass through the area, adding long straight lines that contrast with the looser, organic street pattern around them.
Toward the coast
East of town the land flattens toward the Indian Ocean, where waterways and coastal lagoons break the map into softer, fragmented shapes near the shoreline.
