Terraced rows
Parallel lines of terraced houses fill the older parts of town. In black and white they form a tight, rhythmic pattern that is distinctively northern English.

Wombwell Map Poster & Print
Wombwell is in the metropolitan borough of Barnsley in South Yorkshire, on the edge of the Dearne Valley. Coal mining shaped the town for more than a century. The map still reflects that period: rows of terraced streets arranged in tight parallel lines, a long high street running through the centre, and railway lines crossing the lower ground.
Since the pits closed, much of the former industrial land around the valley has been reclaimed as green space, and the surroundings look much softer than they once did. Wombwell Wood, an area of ancient woodland, lies on higher ground to the west. The River Dearne runs to the north, and the town has a station on the line between Sheffield and Leeds.
A Wombwell map poster brings out the rhythm of the terraces most clearly, repeating blocks that record how the town grew around industry. Around them sit the curving roads of later estates, the rail line and the open, greener land of the valley. It is an honest portrait of a working Yorkshire town.

Wombwell Wood
Ancient woodland on the western side of town appears as a broad area without streets, a quiet contrast to the dense residential blocks nearby.
Dearne Valley
The river and its reclaimed green corridor lie to the north. At wider zoom levels they add open space and a gentle watercourse to the frame.

Miért Wombwell?
Egy térkép, ami jelent valamit
Wombwell is a town of long family memories, many of them tied to the pits and the streets that grew around them. A map keeps that place in view for those who stayed, those who left, and those who want to remember a grandparent's home.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps with a family name or the year a house was bought. Then choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
