Srīnivāspur is a town in Kolar district, in the south-eastern corner of Karnataka near the Andhra Pradesh border. It is widely known for its mangoes, and orchards cover much of the landscape around it. The Kolar plateau is dry, and for centuries farmers here have relied on tanks, shallow reservoirs made by damming seasonal streams.
